Centre City parking garage ‘98%’ complete

Centre City parking garage project manager Joe Saeler told city council Tuesday night that the garage is “98 percent done.”Saeler said the plumbing is completely done, and that it was finished $5,500 under budget. The kiosk and gate system still is being completed.“They’re securing the network system as we speak,” Saeler said.Butler parking manager Jim Chiprean said he hopes for the gate and kiosk system to go live during the first week of February.

Saeler also reported that the project will be overall under budget.

The parking garage is a four-floor, 239-space structure at the corner of McKean and Jefferson Streets. It is part of the $13.2 million Centre City project, along with a 76-room Marriott Springhill Suites hotel that is under construction next to it.
